SDC has a strong track record in project management, delivering contracts on time and on budget for a wide range of clients. In recent years, we have used this experience to host and to lead major multi-year projects with dedicated staff capacity. By offering this as an option to clients, SDC is able to provide a support for activities that complement our objectives. By employing project staff directly, SDC benefits from their skills and experience in a variety of ways.

In 2006, SDC was successful in a joint bid to the European Commission Public Health Programme. The organisation leads the SUPPORT project, providing administrative, research and facilitation support to the development and delivery of the forthcoming EU Strategy on mental health.

This project had a total budget of close to €1m over three years, for which SDC was ultimately responsible.

Delivery and management of such a major piece of work across the EU is a significant major step for SDC, and the benefits to the organisation and to Scotland of hosting this activity are clear. SUPPORT has its own dedicated interactive website, available at www.supportproject.eu.
