Living Better Project Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Project management of research and development contracts
  • Undertaking research including data collection, analysis using qualitative and quantitative methods and report writing
  • Internal quality assurance of SDC contracts and projects
  • Information, marketing and website

Areas of Expertise/Interest:

  • Equalities and Stigma/Discrimination
  • Suicide prevention and self harm
  • Children and young people’s mental health
  • Peer Support
  • Qualitative methodologies including in-depth case studies, interviewing and focus groups

Background:

  • BA (Hons) English Studies & Sociology, University of Stirling
  • MA Librarianship, University of Sheffield
  • Joined SDC in 2003, following research work at University of Otago
  • Between 1997 and 2002 worked as Information and training Co-ordinator for Mind’s rural mental health project, ruralMinds in England
